Panelsan manufactures sandwich panels, EPS and moulded products in Polatlı, Ankara, and exports to more than 30 countries across Asia, Europe and Africa. To strengthen its regional presence, the company decided to invest in Kazakhstan and completed the establishment of a local company in 2022.

Panelsan Board Member Mustafa Coşkun Karadeniz explained that the company produces sandwich panels, EPS and moulded products to meet the construction sector's growing insulation needs. Its solutions combine thermal insulation, airtightness, fire performance and aesthetics. Key markets include industrial buildings, cold stores, shopping centres, offices, sports facilities, agricultural and livestock buildings, and prefabricated structures. With exports to more than 30 countries across three continents, Panelsan decided to invest in Kazakhstan in line with its strategy for sustainable growth and profitability. Karadeniz stated that the company had been established in 2022 for the project in Almaty and that a memorandum of understanding had been signed with Kazakhstan's sovereign wealth fund. He said the investment was expected to strengthen Panelsan's regional position and support its ambition to become a Turkish brand that adds value to Kazakhstan's economy. He also welcomed the elevation of relations between Kazakhstan and Türkiye to an enhanced strategic partnership.

NEW INVESTMENT PLANS IN ANKARA

Karadeniz stated that Panelsan was working on a series of promising investment and expansion plans. The company had purchased an 81,000 m² plot adjoining its existing facilities, providing a strategic location to support its growth objectives.

Karadeniz said construction of the new factory adjoining the existing production facilities in Polatlı, Ankara, was progressing rapidly. “We have ordered the mineral wool and polyurethane sandwich panel line and its additional machinery, and are awaiting delivery and installation. In 2024, our new factory will bring us significant production capacity and mark another step towards sustainable growth,” he said. He added that the investments would support advances in building design and energy efficiency. “By focusing our technological investments on mineral wool panel production, we aim to respond directly to the sector's needs. Our strategic investments and expansion plans are intended to improve our products and services, achieve sustainable growth and establish a leading position internationally.” Celebrating Kazakhstan's Republic Day on 25 October, Karadeniz said: “We deeply value our brotherly ties, shared goals and political cooperation with Kazakhstan. Just as we have always hoped to strengthen these ties, we wish to see this close relationship grow further in the future.”

Karadeniz explained that Panelsan's investment in Kazakhstan aimed to reinforce this shared vision and strengthen commercial, economic, cultural and social ties between the two countries. More effective use of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and the Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran–Türkiye railway would enable Turkish goods and services to reach Kazakhstan faster and more economically.
