What Is a Sandwich Panel?
A Sandwich Panel: A composite roof and wall cladding material, mainly used in industrial buildings, made with an insulation core of different thicknesses and densities between two metal sheets. Facings can be pre-painted galvanised steel, pre-painted aluminium, natural aluminium or stainless steel; cores can be mineral wool (stone wool or glass wool), EPS, injected polyurethane (PUR) or polyisocyanurate (PIR).

Core materials differ principally in thermal insulation, sound insulation, reaction to fire and weight. They are selected according to the performance requirements of the building.
Sandwich panels are preferred worldwide as a practical, economical way to protect buildings from external conditions. As long-life building components, they meet requirements for corrosion protection, waterproofing, sound insulation, thermal insulation and fire resistance.
Low weight, fast manufacture and installation, and easy handling have expanded their applications. They are used in industrial buildings, thermal power plants, shopping centres, power stations, military and social facilities, sports facilities, containers, cold stores, clean rooms, animal shelters and poultry farms.
Panelsan offers alternative solutions for building performance requirements through its Çatıpan and Cephepan sandwich panel ranges and extensive processing capabilities. Its products are manufactured to TS EN 14509 and hold certifications including FM Global, Gost-R, TSE, CE and ISO 9001.
The mineral wool cores in our Çatıpan and Cephepan sandwich panels are cut into strips and oriented perpendicular to the facing to improve compressive strength. Our PIR cores are polyurethane products enhanced with flame-retardant and smoke-reducing chemicals.
Panels are painted using coil coating. Metal surfaces receive food-regulation-compliant coatings such as Polyester (PE), Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF), Plastisol (PVC-P), PVC film (PVC-F) or Polyurethane (PUR).
Alongside metal-faced options such as embossed, lacquered or pre-painted aluminium and pre-painted galvanised steel, our sandwich panels can be used with waterproofing membranes such as PVC and TPO on roofs with slopes below 7%. In acidic environments, agricultural buildings and animal shelters, sandwich panels made with GRP or PET sheets also provide solutions to a range of problems.
With its registered brands, total quality management approach, expert team and R&D activities, Panelsan is a visionary leader in its sector. Its sandwich panel products bring a new technical and aesthetic perspective, making it a preferred brand, particularly for prestigious buildings.
